To be honest, no from this Tour de Suisse team has shown that they are ready for the Tour de France. Not Maxim, not Oscar, not Allan, not one single person. Hopefully Grivko and Jufre are recovering nicely. They could get called up.

Max has already proved his worth before, on Belgium classics and he seems to be becoming into a great one day classics specialist. As Vino himself mentioned once Max lacks longevity as of now and week long race is probably longest he can go on top of his form. Which is not bad thing at all.

Having Gilbert-like oft-winning classic guy is great for the team.

Max had a very good spring and I thought he was a shoo-in for the Tour. His current form makes me seriously doubt whether he is ready for the Tour. Perhaps his goal is to be strong during the first week and survive the remaining two weeks. Don’t know. But neither he, nor Oscar nor Allan Davis have shown any kind of competitive form this week (in my opinion).
